Sloe Gin Competition - Sunday 28th February 2027

Village Sloe Gin Competition at The Kings Head (Cavern) - Sunday 28th February 2027 - Judging Commences at 3.00pm

It’s time to search the hedgerows for the elusive “Sloe” but you will have to be quick before the birds pick them ready for winter. There are many recipes out there, maybe you have one handed down by parents or grandparents, could your recipe win through? 

Basic recipe: 1 liter Gin, 500g Sloes, 250g Castor Sugar, 4 drops of Vanilla Essence

There will be an open class for other concoctions like, Bullace (cherry plum) Vodka, Damson Gin, Raspberry Vodka, Blackberry Whisky, there are many more, so if you can’t find sloes try something else.

Rules & regulations for the Sloe Gin Challenge:

• Entries must be a minimum sample size of 300ml in a sealed glass container, stating your name and the year the sloes or fruit were picked.
